Froid public works reports maintenance activity; council approves minutes and March claims

Public Works Director Alan Engelke told the Froid Town Council on March 10 that winter maintenance work included replacing lights at the Community Center (fire‑hall side), replacing a frozen water meter at the Lutheran Church and performing general maintenance and snow/ice removal. Engelke said he will attend the Montana Rural Water Systems Conference in Great Falls later in the week.
On unfinished business, the council recorded no updates on the ARPA-funded curb stop and valve replacement project. On the valve cleanout project, Engelke said there are about five to 10 main valves that still need to be cleaned out.
During other business, Engelke asked whether the Fire Department could use a large propane tank stored at the Town Shop; council members agreed the department could take it if they find a use.
Routine actions taken at the meeting included approval of the Feb. 10, 2025 minutes and payment of March 2025 claims. Council Member Tyler Harris moved to approve the minutes; Gregg Labatte seconded and the motion carried. Council Member Laurie Young moved to pay the March claims; Harris seconded and the motion carried.
With no further business, the council adjourned; the next regular meeting is scheduled for April 14, 2025.
