Deputy Corbell of the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Department told the Froid Town Council on March 10 that parents of juveniles who have been operating off‑road vehicles on town streets have been contacted and that parents may be ticketed if the conduct continues.
Council members reviewed a summary of calls sent from the Sheriff’s Office to the town. When Council Member Tyler Harris asked about enforcement options, Deputy Corbell said parents of the juveniles can be ticketed if laws are not followed. The deputy also reported that a recent unapproved burning of the town tree pile was not reported to the Sheriff’s Office; Public Works Director Alan Engelke said the Fire Department had not been notified but responded to monitor the burn once they became aware of it.
No formal enforcement action or fines were recorded in the minutes; the council discussed possible parking and traffic enforcement elsewhere in the meeting but did not take specific enforcement votes related to the off‑road vehicle issue at the March session.
