Adell board approves employee raises, street maintenance funding and several routine measures

At its Oct. 8 meeting the Village of Adell Board of Trustees approved a range of routine administrative and operating measures, including employee pay increases and the use of Sheboygan County shared revenue funds for street maintenance.
On personnel, the board approved proposed 2026 pay adjustments as presented by the finance and personnel committee. Trustee Arush Chahal moved approval; Trustee Brian Parr seconded and the motion carried. The approved package calls for a 5% raise for Clerk/Treasurer Kelly Rathke, a 3% raise for Director of Public Works Matt Risch, and a $1.00 hourly increase for Public Works employee Anthony Bliesner for each certification he attains, as recorded in the meeting minutes.
On infrastructure funding, President Andy Schmitt moved to allocate Sheboygan County Transportation Shared Revenue Program dollars to street maintenance and crack-filling; Trustee Brian Parr seconded and the motion carried. The minutes record DPW Matt Risch will continue monitoring street conditions and complaints related to recent driveway work on First Avenue.
The board also approved Resolution #2025-02 (library tax exemption), authorized the 2026 Joint Powers Agreement, approved surveillance signage for the Village Hall and Fire Department, and granted a requested water-relief adjustment for Rolando Garcia of 504 Wisconsin Street. The board approved community events including a Village Halloween Party on Oct. 25 at 1:30 p.m. and village trick-or-treating from 3:00–5:00 p.m. on the same day.
