Froid public works: lagoon 'looks good' and town continues light-replacement work

Public Works Director Alan Engelke reported to the Froid Town Council on Jan. 20 that routine maintenance is ongoing, a regulator for the in-town lift station has been ordered, and a Montana Rural Water Systems employee inspected the lagoon and reported that it appears to be in good condition. Engelke said a plan will be made to perform a sludge test this summer.
Engelke also updated the council on the town’s light-replacement project: the lights in the Town office and shop have been replaced, and he plans to replace the library lights during the current week. He said he repaired a curb stop for a mobile home and continues general maintenance tasks.
Engelke will attend the Montana Rural Water Systems annual conference in Great Falls March 12–14, 2025 to obtain required continuing-education credits. The council did not record additional operational directives or funding approvals tied specifically to the lagoon inspection in the minutes.
