Davis County approves sheriff’s office service agreements, interlocal law-enforcement revenue and a $418,513 Taser purchase

Davis County commissioners on June 30 approved a series of sheriff’s office agreements and purchases, including a Lexipol LEFTA Shield Suite subscription, contract amendments, an interlocal law-enforcement revenue agreement with South Weber City and the purchase of Taser electronic control devices.
Chief Deputy Arnold Butcher presented Items 7–10. The Master Service Agreement with Lexipol covers the annual LEFTA Shield Suite base subscription with a listed cost of $7,980. The commission also approved Amendment #1 to extend a professional services contract completion date and Amendment #4 to the interlocal cooperation agreement for law enforcement services for South Weber City, which lists a receivable amount of $359,661. Item #2026-645 approved the State of Utah contract for Taser electronic control devices with an expense of $418,513.58 and a contract term of Oct. 1, 2026, through Sept. 30, 2031, as recorded in the agenda.
The motion to approve Items 7–10 was made by John Crofts and seconded by Bob Stevenson; all present voted aye. The minutes list the financial terms for the items and indicate contracts and amendments are on file with the sheriff’s office and county records.
Next steps: the sheriff’s office will execute the contracts and amend existing agreements per the approved amendments; revenue from the South Weber interlocal agreement is captured as a receivable in the county records.
