Select Board approves Greystone 3-acre stormwater permit and co-permittee arrangement

The Select Board voted Aug. 18 to approve plans associated with the Greystone 3-acre stormwater permit and signaled support for the homeowners association’s engineer to submit a Notice of Intent to the state to preserve certain grant eligibility. The board discussed cost-sharing, engineer reviews and maintenance responsibilities and approved the plans to allow the permitting process to move forward.
Tom Bednar, representing the Greystone Association, described a preliminary engineering plan by CAS Engineering to meet state requirements for the three-acre rule and explained the HOA’s goal of submitting plans to preserve reimbursement opportunities tied to an Oct. 1 deadline. Bednar said the infrastructure is older but that enhancements were necessary under current rules.
Board members asked that the town’s engineer review the plans; staff said the town uses outside engineers as needed but that CAS is a licensed firm and would stamp the plans. The board approved the plans and authorized staff to coordinate submissions and future review. The motion was made by Select Board member David Sanders and seconded by Bart Hill and carried unanimously.
The board noted that future adjustments may be necessary if the state requires changes and that final cost shares and a maintenance agreement will be returned to the board for approval.
