Adell board approves library funding, park playground install and hires part‑time DPW worker

At its Aug. 13 meeting the Village of Adell Board of Trustees approved a 3% library funding request and voted to use part of the park improvement fund balance to install newly purchased playground equipment.
Trustee Arush Chahal moved to approve the library funding request; Trustee Brian Parr seconded and all voted in favor. The board separately approved a motion by President Andy Schmitt, seconded by Trustee Parr, to use park improvement funds to install park equipment. Schmitt said Howie Mitchell will donate his time and equipment to install the jungle gym that was purchased.
President Schmitt reported the Streets and Parks Committee will meet to consider purchasing additional playground equipment with remaining park improvement funds. The board instructed DPW Matt Risch to schedule a meeting with Cedar Corporation to assess village streets.
On personnel, Schmitt reported the village has hired Anthony Bliesner as a part‑time public works employee to work 20 hours per week.
On code enforcement, DPW Matt Risch said, following the village attorney’s request, that a seven‑day notice will be delivered to homeowners by the Cascade Police Department for second‑offense nuisance complaints and that the village will fine on a daily basis until cleanup is completed after those seven days.
Routine business included placing the financial report on file for audit and approving bills; no public comments were heard. The board adjourned. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 10, 2025.
