Farmington board approves LTFM plan, flags high-school roof project estimated at $10.5 million

He told trustees the district intends to pay part of the project with a combination of pay-go LTFM funds and multiyear community bonding. "We're working with our financial partner, Ellers, to determine how we might go about financing that as part of the LTFM levy," he said.
Chair Christiansen summarized projected taxpayer impacts provided to the board: for an owner of a $400,000 home, the district presented an estimated reduction in property taxes of about $3.75 next year attributable to prior levy changes, an additional projected $460 decrease by 2031, and a later-year estimated change of roughly $311 as the districts debt obligations shift. Christiansen framed those numbers as illustrative of how the proposed financing schedule would affect property-tax timing and amounts.
Board discussion focused on timing and on minimizing spikes in property tax rates. A trustee underscored that the roof estimate covers only the roof replacement and not other projects. The board then moved to adopt the resolution to include the districts proportionate share of ISD LTFM projects in its application and to approve the ISD long-term facility maintenance plan as presented; the motion passed by voice vote.
