County to issue RFP for courthouse electrical panel replacement; Buildings & Grounds outlines summer upkeep

The committee was told the replacement will be purchased with capital improvement funding in the 2027 budget cycle and that a Request for Proposal for the project will be issued within about a month. The minutes note the existing unit is old and that the county bought the only remaining compatible part after a failure.
Buildings & Grounds staff provided an overview of departmental responsibilities and summer preparations: painting of courthouse hallways, LED lighting upgrades, new hanging signs and room-number signage, selective repainting of offices on an eight- to ten-year cycle, and new construction near the Register of Deeds front desk. Staff also reported converting snow-plow attachments to mowing attachments on equipment, ongoing equipment maintenance, and a fully staffed department.
The committee approved Buildings & Grounds vouchers for April 2026 totaling $9,196.19 as part of consent business.
Next steps: staff will issue the RFP for the courthouse electrical panel under the capital project timeline and proceed with planned summer maintenance work.
