Price County board adopts three resolutions, appoints District 5 supervisor and schedules November special election

The Price County Board of Supervisors on April 28 adopted three resolutions and took action to fill a vacant County Board seat.
By unanimous roll-call votes (12–0), the board: asked the Wisconsin Counties Association to lobby the state legislature and governor to give counties greater authority to regulate large-scale wind and solar projects; approved budget amendments for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2025 that do not change the tax levy but are intended to more accurately record departmental financial activity; and authorized the creation of up to two additional full- or part-time Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) behavioral health social worker positions in Health and Human Services, citing higher caseloads after state changes eliminated the CLTS waitlist.
The board also addressed a vacancy in County Board Supervisor District 5. After discussion of appointment procedures and publication of notice, the board approved a motion to appoint a person to the vacancy immediately and to place the seat on the Nov. 3, 2026 special election ballot; the motion passed by roll call, 12–0.
