Wrenshall council approves water and utility purchases, records easement and advances utility connections

The Wrenshall City Council on Feb. 4 approved several utility and water-related actions including purchase of a variable frequency drive (VFD) package and recording a revised well easement.
The Water Operator reported a $9,500 quote from Thien Well to replace the pump at Well #1 and said staff will ask Thien for a repair quote as an alternative. The council approved purchase of a VFD package quoted at $4,788.24 after a motion by Acting Mayor Joyce Gvesrude and a second by Councilor Steve Studniski; the motion carried.
The council also approved an amended Well #4 Easement Agreement that had been signed by the grantors and directed staff to have the document recorded with Carlton County. The vote on the easement was unanimous (Gvesrude-Yes; Weber-Yes; House-Yes; Studniski-Yes; Bloom-Yes).
Council members received an update that Resource Renew is reviewing an application from the Laveau Butcher Company and that Nathan Fiest is working with the applicants to develop plans for water service on S. Woodhaven and sewer connections on Pioneer to the city utilities.
These actions authorize routine equipment replacement and administrative steps to secure easement documentation; they do not themselves represent construction or final funding approvals.
