Phillips raised a broader fiscal concern after an afternoon announcement that the State Health Benefits Commission adopted a 36.5% increase to local-government rates; she noted the township’s health-insurance budget line is $270,000 and recommended that Risk Management or the Personnel Subcommittee continue to monitor final rates and consider adjustments if needed.
Operational and community items noted at the meeting included: a Hunts Road embankment project that has closed Hunts Road from Wintermute to Hunt Pond Road through the end of October; a Bench Program wording approval in which a requester asked to keep the honoree’s name private; a $1,515 Safety and Loss Control Grant awarded to Green Township for a Solar Tech radar gun; and a reminder that Green Township Day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The Committee also approved minutes for the Aug. 18 regular meeting and executive session with a small correction to executive session minutes to include Mayor Raffay’s name on one matter. Ordinance 2025-09 concerning zoning amendments was carried to the Sept. 15 meeting for Land Use Board review.
