The Northvale Board of Education approved final closeout actions for HVAC upgrades to the gym and multipurpose room at its April 30 meeting, accepting recommended change orders that reduced the contract total.
District officials reported change-order subtractions for damages/custodial time ($16,812) and construction-management hours ($9,600), for net change orders totaling a $26,412 reduction. The original contract amount of $1,736,000 was adjusted to a final contract amount of $1,678,369 after accounting for change orders and contingency allowances.
The facilities committee also reported security and fire drills conducted earlier in the spring (security drills 3/20/26 and 4/28/26; fire drill 4/7/26) and approved use-of-property applications subject to receipt of certificates of insurance and noninterference with school activities.
The board approved BG-1 through BG-3 by roll-call vote with all members in favor.
