Council holds first readings for parking-lot standards and Blue's Lake replat

At a public hearing opened by Mayor Lister B. Florence Jr. at about 6:32 p.m., Community Development Director Dawn Bell presented a text amendment to Chapter 42 of the City of Rolla ordinances proposing standardized permitting and construction specifications for required parking lots. The public hearing closed at 6:34 p.m., and City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus read the ordinance for its first reading by title.
Bell later explained a separate land-use matter: the final plat for Blue's Lake Plat No. 13 at 1630 Bridge School Road. She said the developer ran into rock when installing utilities and the proposed ordinance would vacate the original easements and dedicate replacement easements to allow utility installation. City Counselor Nathan Nickolaus read the ordinance for its first reading by title.
Both items were taken up as first readings and no final action or votes were recorded on them at the meeting. Staff will return with any required documents or subsequent readings if revisions are necessary.
