Resident urges update on Chandler Hall crosswalk grant before multimodal deadline

During the public-comment period, Charles Foyer of Newtown Walk asked supervisors for an update on the Chandler Hall Crosswalk project and whether the township plans to apply for a multimodal grant whose application deadline is at the end of this month.

"After a number of the citizens, residents of Chandler Hall were here, to express their concern and need as well as employees, of Chandler Hall," Foyer said, asking for the status of cost estimates and whether the township intends to pursue the current multimodal funding round. He noted the grant "waive[s] the township portion that has to be contributed to any project," calling it "basically free money for pedestrian safety, bicycle, and wheelchair safety throughout Newtown." He also asked for an update on the Newtown–Yardley Crosswalk and Curb project, which he said was previously funded by the multimodal fund.
