Public commenters praised recent district steps—such as blocking access to non‑instructional YouTube content and offering an optional summer tech break—but urged the board to translate policy into an implementation plan with staffing and audit resources.
Trustee Beal led trustee concerns about the document's current vagueness and the September 2026 target for finalized screen‑time limits, saying, "I feel that we should bring back this resolution with a lot clearer language about how we're going to do things." Trustees asked staff to work with the task force, site principals and the finance committee on technical feasibility (including whether the district can measure device minutes per student) and to propose a specific schedule for deliverables.
The board voted unanimously to postpone the resolution and requested a refined version that includes measurable milestones and clearer roles for the task force and district staff.
