At its Oct. 26 meeting the Hainesport Township Board of Education approved multiple student-services and operational policies and acted on human-resources items including funding allocations and a new hire.
The board adopted a broad set of policies and regulations affecting student services, health and safety and remote instruction, including P2422 (Comprehensive Health & Physical Education); P1648 and related policies for restart & recovery and remote learning; P1648.11 (COVID-19 Health & Safety); P1648.13 (School Employee Vaccination Requirements); and other student-services policies listed in the minutes. The policy adoptions were recorded on the agenda and approved by roll call.
On human-resources items the board authorized paying portions of three staff salaries from Title I funds totaling $54,829 and approved $6,575 toward a staff salary from IDEA funds. The board also revised the National Junior Honor Society stipend to $1,608, approved additional volunteer names, increased Mr. Pupchik’s assignment from four to five days as needed (with a maximum additional cost of $10,400), and ratified the hire of Jennifer Coughlin as a full-time special-education teacher (MA Step 7; salary $60,437 plus longevity, subject to documentation).
The board authorized an out-of-district placement (#OD-0414) at Burlington County Special Services District with tuition listed at $45,887 for the 2021–22 term (9/27/21–6/30/22), and an additional placement listed as not to exceed $3,011.58. These financial and staffing items were approved by roll call vote per the minutes.
