Board accepts $500 Holocaust-education grant, approves finance reports and out-of-district placement

The Hainesport Township Board of Education on Nov. 23 approved routine finance reports, accepted a $500 grant from the Mark Schonwetter Holocaust Education Foundation for the library and approved an out-of-district placement with an associated tuition amount.

Finance Committee Chair Peter Scarpati presented and the board approved the Board Secretary’s and Treasurer’s reports for October, appropriation adjustments, cash-flow statements and the school budget calendar. The board accepted a $500 grant from the Mark Schonwetter Holocaust Education Foundation for the library; Superintendent Joseph Corn had thanked librarian Ms. Tricina Beebe for assistance in obtaining the grant during the superintendent’s report. The finance agenda also included approval of an out-of-district placement (placement #OD-0414) with tuition listed at $45,887 for the 2021–22 term and authorization to go out to bid for night-time custodians.
