Committee backs sale of 220 Guilford Avenue for redevelopment

He said the purchaser intends to demolish the existing garage and redevelop the site with a new three-story garage that will include "approximately 10,000 square feet of office space on the 1st Floor" and that the Baltimore Community Lending Center plans to relocate there, provide employee parking and offer additional parking rentable to the public.
Agency reviewers supported the sale. Gabriel Stewart Sikowitz for the Department of Finance said the department did not oppose the sale and that Mr. Hardy had provided the needed information. Eric Tieseau for the Department of Planning recommended a favorable report and noted the property lies within the Central Business District urban renewal plan and entirely within the flood plain; he offered to meet with prospective purchasers to discuss regulatory requirements.
The committee voted to recommend the sale favorable to the full City Council; no recorded roll-call tally of individual positions was provided in the transcript.
