The Ogdensburg Borough Board of Education on Feb. 4 approved the district’s check register through January 2025, covering checks numbered 018865 through 040218 for a total of $576,754.29. The motion to approve the facilities and finance package was presented by Mr. Donegan and seconded by Mr. Gorsky and carried with six members voting yes; one member was absent.
The board also accepted the Board Secretary’s and Treasurer’s monthly financial reports for December 2024 and authorized line-item transfers to prevent any account from being over-expended, citing compliance with N.J.A.C. 6A:23A-16.10. Ivana Gray, board secretary, presented the monthly transfer and certification documents to the board as part of the motion.
Board members approved the use of school facilities for an upcoming Special Someone Dance, and authorized the disposal of a nonfunctional SMART BOARD (fixed asset #000288). Mr. Donegan framed the items as routine financial housekeeping needed to close the quarter and maintain audit readiness.
The vote on the facilities/finance block was recorded as AYE — Mr. Mortensen, Mr. Gorsky, Ms. Kondik, Mr. Donegan, Mr. Menendez and Ms. Schinn; ABSENT — Ms. Allen. The board took no separate roll-call votes on individual checks in the register.
The board did not enter executive session and adjourned at 6:49 p.m.; next financial reporting will appear in the board’s regular repository and in the district’s forthcoming Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
