At its April 14 meeting the Ogdensburg Borough Council approved a multi-item consent agenda that included policy, emergency procurement and property-disposal actions.
Resolution 43-2025: The council approved a resolution urging state leaders to allow local governments to publish legal notices on official municipal websites, citing increased digitization of media and the administrative burden and taxpayer costs of traditional newspaper publication; certified copies were to be sent to the governor, legislative leaders and the New Jersey State League of Municipalities.
Resolution 44-2025 (emergency contract): The council authorized an emergency contract, under N.J.S.A. 40A:11-6 et seq., with DPS Pump Service, LLC of Hopatcong to replace a well pump at Well #4 (Center Street), with the contract amount not to exceed $13,759.00.
Resolution 45-2025 (surplus property): The council declared certain vehicles and equipment surplus and authorized sale via municibid.com under State Contract #19-GNSVI-00696, selling items “as is.” Mayor Hutnick asked that a 2003 Ford F550 (described at the meeting as a diesel, manual transmission with significant mechanical and frame issues) be added to the sale list; the mayor described the vehicle’s condition as: "runs but doesn’t recommend driving it. No parking brake, frame and brake lines are in very poor condition no inspection." The resolution authorizes the mayor and borough clerk to execute necessary transfer documents for items sold.
Resolution 47-2025 (scrap metal): The council authorized disposal or sale of accumulated scrap metal not needed for public use to George’s Salvage Company, Inc., with any proceeds to be deposited with the Chief Finance Officer.
Vote and procedure: The consent agenda was moved by Councilman Ciasullo and seconded by Councilwoman Ruitenberg. Roll call recorded the council voting in favor of the consent agenda items; Councilman DeMeo recorded an abstention on approval of the March 24, 2025 meeting minutes (item #1) but was recorded as voting for the remainder. No nays were recorded.
