The Borough of Ogdensburg’s council adopted Resolution 39‑2025 on March 10, 2025, establishing the annual salaries for certain non‑contract municipal employees effective Jan. 1, 2025. CFO Mike Marceau told council members the resolution reflects a 2% pay increase for the affected employees.
Councilwoman Ruitenberg asked for additional time to compare the previous pay schedule with the proposed changes. "I would like to take a better look at it and see what’s changed," she said, and suggested tabling the item until members had the comparative spreadsheet in hand. Mr. Marceau responded that the change presented was the 2% increase and that the DPW superintendent’s pay was not finalized because a separate agreement would supersede the resolution when completed.
Borough Attorney Robert McBriar noted that a superseding motion would be necessary to table the matter but recorded that the council chose to move forward with the resolution as presented on the agenda. A roll call vote approved Resolution 39‑2025: Yeas — Ciasullo, Cowdrick, DeMeo, Gandarinho, Lame, Ruitenberg; Nays — none.
The resolution also reiterates longevity pay provisions for employees hired before January 1, 1996 and confirms overtime calculation procedures tied to the borough’s Emergency Water System Repairs and Snow Removal Policy. Council directed the CFO to provide comparative salary materials to members following the meeting.
The action implements the 2% increases immediately for payroll purposes; the DPW supervisor/superintendent salary will be adjusted later if and when a separate employment agreement is finalized.
