Ms. Lopez said the survey collected 86 freshmen, 107 sophomores, 160 juniors and 33 seniors. Students cited positives such as sports, clubs and teacher support; they also raised concerns about restroom access (Ms. Lopez reported only one female restroom was consistently available during lunch), inconsistent communication about dress‑code changes and a desire for expanded college and mental‑health supports.
When asked for details, Ms. Lopez said security staff are stationed in hallways and students must request assistance for restroom access during lunch periods. She also said some students reported being surprised by policy changes because announcements were not always made to the entire student body.
Board members thanked Ms. Lopez for the presentation. The survey results will inform administration follow‑up on restroom access, dress‑code communication and counseling resources.
