Oldmans Township Committee adopts floodplain and stormwater ordinances

The Oldmans Township Committee adopted two land-use ordinances during its Aug. 14 regular meeting, moving the township to new standards for floodplain management and for stormwater controls on larger developments.
Mayor David Murphy presided as the Committee approved Ordinance 2024-07, the township's floodplain management regulations, following a public hearing at which no members of the public commented. The Committee adopted the ordinance by motion under Resolution 2024-104.
During a separate public hearing on Ordinance 2024-08 — an amendment to Chapter 148, “Stormwater Management” — resident Melody Reese asked, “What is it?” Tom Tedesco responded, “It’s an amendment to an existing ordinance. The biggest change is for larger development (over 1 acre of land disturbance). State is trying to make stormwater basins environmentally friendly.” The Committee approved final adoption under Resolution 2024-105.
Both ordinances were adopted by motions from Committee members and recorded as final adoptions without recorded dissent. The ordinances update the township's regulatory framework for land-disturbing activity and for management of flood-prone areas; the Committee did not specify effective dates at the meeting.
The Committee also voted to discharge a recorded Redevelopment Agreement for the former Camp Pedricktown with Energy Freedom Pioneers, removing the record because that party is no longer associated with the property.
The meeting concluded with routine business and an executive session later in the evening. The Committee adjourned at 8:57 p.m.
