Marshall reviews balanced budget materials; community seeks help pursuing block grant

At its Oct. 23 special meeting the Marshall Village Board reviewed budget workshop materials and heard public comments from local community representatives.
Administrator Brandon Bledsoe presented the budget documents and said that all funds were at balance or in surplus and that the board would not need to raise the General Fund levy. Board members expressed general agreement; no formal action was taken during the workshop portion of the meeting.
Caleb Rogers and Valar Rogers, speaking on behalf of the American Legion and the Marshall Historical Society, asked the village to assist in obtaining a block grant. Administrator Bledsoe agreed to provide his contact information to facilitate further discussion.
Board members identified the Whistle Stop Campground leasing contract as a topic for future discussion and/or action. The meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
