Oldmans Township on Nov. 13 approved measures to support lead-service-line replacement for Auburn Water customers.
The committee approved Resolution 2024-137 to authorize annual testing of Auburn Water by Vineland Environmental Laboratories, LLC. By Resolution 2024-138 the committee awarded Fralinger Engineering PA a $22,500 contract to provide civil design for the installation of 53 water service laterals for Auburn Water residents; minutes note the work is in response to a state mandate to replace lead water service lines. The committee also authorized payment of $22,500 to Fralinger Engineering.
Committee motions to approve the testing contract, the engineering agreement and payment were moved by Mr. Ferrell, seconded by Mr. Sparks, and recorded as approved unanimously.
The minutes do not provide a construction schedule, homeowner cost-sharing details, or grant/funding breakdown for the lateral replacements; the clerk indicated she will follow up with the grantsman about possible funding for Auburn Water lead-pipe replacement work.
