Oldmans Township awards repaving contract for New Road after NJAW work; state grant covers most costs

Oldmans Township on Nov. 13 awarded a contract to Paving Plus LLC to complete partial repaving of New Road and discussed coordinated water-line work by New Jersey American Water.
The committee approved Resolution 2024-132 to award partial repaving of New Road to Paving Plus LLC. The minutes state Oldmans Township received a state grant of $93,000 to finish the project; three bids were received and the low bid was approximately $73,000. The low bidder is the same contractor that completed the first phase of New Road paving.
Officials said New Jersey American Water will install new service laterals on Pennsville-Pedricktown Road and that New Road has been designated as the detour route while that pipe work occurs; once NJAW completes the work, New Road will be repaved. The minutes say the township intends the repaving to follow the water work to avoid repeat disruption.
The committee also approved Resolution 2024-133, placing a property-maintenance lien for Block 33/Lot 1 in the amount of $389.93.
Motions to approve the repaving award and the lien were recorded as moved by Mr. Sparks and seconded by Mr. Ferrell, with unanimous approval. The minutes do not provide a signed construction contract date or precise start date for the paving work beyond contractor selection.
