"He recounted an incident where a parent slipped on ice at Rosa Parks, necessitating an ambulance," the minutes state; Ms. Johnson said the district would follow up with information about its procedures.
Dr. Fatimah Turner summarized the Facilities Committee meeting of Jan. 23, stressing the district’s regular inspections and maintenance work ahead of flu season and noting completed flagpole repairs, greenhouse and ROTC classroom projects, and steam-pipe issues. She also raised specific concerns about heating in some buildings and acknowledged the response by facilities staff including Mr. Vasquez and Mr. Ballard.
In response to questions about district communications, administrators described a recent phone blast and a posted emergency message on the district website; staff reported receiving about 45 emails over the weekend reporting contact-information discrepancies and using the Genesis Parent Portal to update records.
No formal vote on changing snow-removal policy occurred at the Feb. 12 meeting; board members said they would provide follow-up details to the public.
