Oldmans Committee awards Auburn water testing contract, approves pump and meter purchases

Committee member Jeff Newman moved and Brian Porch seconded the award of the 2025 annual testing contract for Auburn water to Environmental Laboratories (Resolution 2025-56); the motion was recorded as agreed.
Scott Myers reported that the system’s backup chlorine pump has been rebuilt but continues to malfunction; staff recommended purchasing a replacement backup pump at a cost of $1,860. The committee approved that purchase. The committee also agreed to replace a direct-read water meter that has been giving false reads and is no longer repairable; NSU provided a purchase-and-install quote of $3,950 and the work was authorized.
NSU submitted a technical bid package for a chlorine analyzer system; the committee authorized Ms. Melinda Taylor to publicize and issue the full bid package so competitive bids can be solicited.
Next steps: Staff will issue the chlorine analyzer bid packet and proceed with procurement for the pump and meter; Environmental Laboratories will begin the 2025 testing program under the awarded contract.
