Oxford committee approves guide rails for pedestrian bridge, lifeguard referral payment and routine items

At its Sept. 4 meeting the Oxford Township Committee approved several routine and operational items.
Bridge safety: The committee approved contracting with Prestige to add guide rails to open spaces on the recently completed pedestrian bridge. Mayor Norton said the DPW and Finelli’s Office solicited quotes; Prestige’s price for guide rails was $2,300 versus a $7,765 quote for goat fencing.
Lifeguard referral: The committee adopted Resolution R-2024-109 approving a $150 referral fee to Joseph Tomaro under the township’s lifeguard referral incentive policy; Georgette Miller moved the resolution and Linda Koufodontes seconded it.
Alley and tree work: The committee approved Finelli’s Office starting the process to vacate an unnamed alley after staff reported a tree on the boundary; a Suyker Tree Care estimate was referenced for removal work. The committee also approved Finelli’s Office to begin survey work on the business-district grant project once DOT issues notice (see separate article).
Administrative: The committee approved payment of all bills presented and memorialized prior resolutions and minutes. Georgette Miller moved to pay all bills; the motion passed by roll call.
What happens next: The DPW contractor will add guide rails; the clerk will process the referral payment; Finelli’s Office will proceed with alley-vacation and, after DOT notice, with the business-district survey.
