The Town Council of Victoria on Jan. 14 set two public hearings: one in February on an alley right-of-way matter behind 2408 Nottoway Blvd and a joint public hearing with the Planning Commission on the Joint Comprehensive Plan for March 11, 2025.
Town Manager Rodney Newton described the alley issue, saying two accessory buildings on the property at 2408 Nottoway Blvd encroach toward the alley and the owner, Wayne Snead, has had a survey completed and is willing to work toward a resolution. Councilmember James G. Elam Jr. moved and Councilmember Christopher Garrett seconded a motion to hold a public hearing on the alley right-of-way at the February council meeting; the motion carried.
Newton said the Joint Comprehensive Plan will be posted for public viewing by Feb. 1 and requested a joint public hearing with the Planning Commission on March 11. Councilmember Ronald Mattox moved and Councilmember Sandra Jones seconded the motion to schedule the joint hearing; the motion carried.
Both items will return to council after their respective public hearings with any public comments and potential recommendations from the Planning Commission.
