Council also approved appropriations to cover a town share of $3,899 toward Victoria High School’s roof repairs and to purchase a replacement police vehicle for $21,910. Newton proposed funding the vehicle purchase from accumulated vehicle‑line savings: $6,910 (FY24), $10,000 (FY22) and $5,000 (FY21). The motions to accept the budget amendment and the appropriations were recorded as carried; the minutes do not include a roll‑call vote tally.
The sewer camera has already produced inspection video showing debris and potential pipe damage; staff and consultants will review options for cleaning, slip‑lining and repair as necessary. Council did not identify additional funding sources for any future rehabilitation work beyond the camera purchase and proposed consultant pricing.
