Victoria council adopts clearer grass-and-weed enforcement policy

The policy was approved after a motion by Councilmember Ronald Mattox, seconded by Councilmember Johnnie Brame. Newton told the council the updated policy provides officers with defined procedures and forms to standardize enforcement and recordkeeping.
Councilmembers did not record any objections during the motion. The adoption responds to council concerns about uneven enforcement under the old policy and aims to streamline next steps when properties fail to comply. The council will implement the new forms and procedures through the police department and town administrative staff.
