The health insurance committee's recommendation to extend stop‑loss insurance with the same carrier and a $100,000 attachment point was approved and will take effect in October. The court also accepted the resignation of the county's health insurance consultant, effective Aug. 1, 2026. County staff corrected a prior resolution to reflect the proper grant number (4499305) for the Victim Assistance Direct Services Program (FY2026–27) and the court approved the correction.
The court reviewed and approved nine budget amendments across multiple departments (administration, maintenance, health and welfare, constable, district clerk, sheriff, district attorney, road and bridge and the drug seizure fund), which included several intra‑department line‑item transfers and adjustments to ensure coverage for association fee changes and other mid‑year needs.
Tax and treasury items were handled: the treasurer corrected a date typo on a monthly report (May 31 changed to June 30) and the court approved the monthly and quarterly treasurer reports; the tax collector reported June collections of $111,004.32. Staff reported the jail population had increased into the low 90s, prompting discussion about TDCJ pickups and overtime in the sheriff's office and election administration.
After an executive session, the court directed the county attorney to send a 90‑day notice of termination to Bureau of Health Inc. under the contract provision discussed, and the motion passed on a voice vote. The court also reported no action on other listed executive session items A–D.
