The Lebanon Borough Board of Education on Feb. 3 approved a five-year Interlocal Services Agreement to send sixth-grade students to Clinton Public School beginning with the 2026-2027 school year at a flat rate of $100,000 per year.
The resolution (Action 26-FFP-39) was adopted on a 5-0 roll-call vote after being considered as part of the board's Facility/Finance/Policy consent items. Board member Vincent Maglione moved the motion and Danielle Nugent seconded it.
Members of the public spoke in favor of the sixth-grade transition during the public comment period. Marlene Baldinger of Brunswick Avenue and Susie Abeles both expressed support for the decision, citing appreciation for transparency and community coordination.
School Business Administrator and Board Secretary Patricia Duell told the board the district will consider the interlocal in the context of the district's upcoming budget schedule; the board noted a tentative budget vote is scheduled for March 16, 2026 to send a preliminary budget to the county office after the governor's March 10 budget address.
The minutes record no dissenting votes or amendments to the interlocal agreement; the board also received a separate update on Clinton Public School matters from board member Danielle Nugent earlier in the meeting.
