Co-Chair Rachel Fuller read a proposal drafted by Clerk Stephanie Waala that outlined duties, responsibilities and estimated costs for a contracted social media employee or intern to support village communications.
Resident Pat Heibel asked whether the proposed cost included social-media software; Fuller said the proposal did not appear to include software costs and recommended adding a $120 buffer to cover potential purchases.
Member Warren Dutter questioned whether the proposed $14 per hour wage was sufficient. Kelly Killian, a Chamber of Commerce representative, said she hires a contractor for about $250 a month to perform similar work for her business.
Co-Chair Rachel Fuller moved to recommend a contracted or intern social media employee to the personnel committee. Co-Chair Blaine Werner seconded the motion, which carried 4-0.
The recommendation will be forwarded to the personnel committee for consideration of contract terms, budget and scope.
