Co-Chair Rachel Fuller clarified eligibility rules discussed for façade improvements: a roof repair or replacement would qualify if the roof faces the street but would not qualify if the roof is flat and not visible from the street.
Committee members proposed and agreed on several application edits. Co-Chair Blaine Werner asked that the program title be added to the application form. Member Chuck Mueller recommended removing a requirement for Building Permit approval in favor of Plan Commission approval, if applicable; the committees agreed to that change.
Resident Jeff Schultz asked whether applications are accepted year-round and whether changes can be made after approval. Co-Chair Fuller said the application mimics the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) application process: applicants are accepted only during certain windows, funds must be spent within set timeframes, and changes to an approved application require additional approval.
No formal vote on the application wording was recorded beyond the committee’s agreement to the edits; the committee requested the listed changes be incorporated before referral to the village board or administering body.
