Palmyra Board approves personnel moves, appoints Jared Toscano to compliance roles

The Palmyra Board of Education on Dec. 11 approved a slate of personnel actions. Among the personnel motions, the board appointed Jared M. Toscano to serve as the Agency Compliance Officer, Purchasing Agent Compliance Officer and Custodian of School Records. The board also accepted a resignation from David Simpkins, Maintenance Mechanic, effective Dec. 31, 2024.
The board approved stipends for two staff members (Devon Murtagh and Kelly Jones) for additional instructional periods between Dec. 12, 2024 and Jan. 21, 2025; the motion carried on a roll call vote of Ayes 10, Nays 0, Abstentions 0. The board appointed Liza Tait to a part-time World Language teacher position at Charles Street School for the remainder of 2024–25 at a pro-rated salary of $29,879 (BA, Step 2). Other hires and assignments (bus driver for athletics, additions to school-based management teams) were also approved or noted as conditional upon required paperwork.
All personnel motions were recorded in the minutes and will be reflected in payroll and HR records; some hires are contingent on receipt of necessary certifications and background checks.
