The Hobart Redevelopment Commission approved multiple routine construction and fiscal items on March 16, including a contract change order, a roundabout payment estimate and the register of claims.
Project staff described change order number 9 for a Colorado tracking project; the change order covered a directional bore to connect electrical service where pole locations were altered in the field and was presented as necessary to complete lighting and systems tied to the project. Staff also reported that ongoing adjustments left the overall project roughly $64,000 under budget, and the Commission approved the presented change order.
For a separate roundabout project, staff recommended approval of payment No. 1; the meeting referenced an amount of $253,350 in the packet and commissioners approved the payment after confirming that most major work was complete and only minor items remained.
The Commission reviewed a register of claims and invoices totaling about $280,409.46 (as stated in the packet) covering items such as pre-filter station layer improvements, engineering support and an ALTA survey follow-up tied to Greenwood Center parcel work. The board voted to approve the register and then approved bond requisition items labeled 76 and 77 as presented.
All items were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote as recorded in the meeting. The Commission noted ongoing tracking of project closeouts and that some change orders remain under negotiation between contractors and utilities; staff said any additional cost exposure would be addressed if and when vendor negotiations conclude.
