Residents ask about leaf collection, recycling drop box and cannabis sales; borough lists upcoming community events

During the Oct. 21 public-comment period, resident Ms. Veitenheimer of Rowland Street asked why the leaf-collection schedule was not available on the borough website, inquired about the missing Trex plastic-collection drop box and raised questions about cannabis sales in Palmyra. Councilmember Jessica O’Connor said she was working on returning the Trex collection box. Resident Ms. Hamilton of Harbour Drive complimented the meeting and thanked council for engagement with Harbour residents.
Separately, Mayor Tait announced recurring community items including the Virtua Mobile Grocery Store in the community-center parking lot on Thursdays from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., a town-hall meeting with NJDOT and Senator Singleton’s office on Oct. 22, a flu clinic on Oct. 24, a PTA Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 26 and the Halloween parade on Oct. 30.
Council did not take action on the leaf-collection or Trex-dropbox questions during the meeting; staff noted the leaf-collection schedule had not yet begun.
