Construction advances at Rt. 73 South redevelopment; CO targeted for January 2025

The borough's Rt. 73 South Redevelopment Area is moving forward, officials said at the Aug. 19 council meeting.
Mr. Gray (CME) reported that site grading has continued, that asphalt and subbase drainage are installed on the south side, and that retaining walls and fire-hydrant installations have begun on the north side. "The floor slab is approximately 80% complete and the roof is approximately 60% complete," Mr. Gray said, and the project team remains "on target to have the CO issued in January of 2025." He said basin lining and topsoiling, and curb layout and installation on the north side, are expected to be finished in the coming weeks.
Mr. Gural said a separate Kerbeck presentation on a proposed Maraziti showroom for a roughly 67‑acre parcel at the south of the redevelopment area was postponed to the next meeting because negotiations with redeveloper PURE were incomplete.
What happens next: construction milestones (basin lining/topsoiling, curb work) are expected in the near term and staff will bring Kerbeck's presentation to the council when negotiations conclude.
