Palmyra council approves consent agenda including $1.677 million in bills and Hazard Mitigation Plan adoption

On Oct. 21, 2024, the Borough of Palmyra council approved a multi-item consent agenda by a single motion moved by Council President Timothy Howard and seconded by Councilmember Jessica O’Connor.
The package of resolutions (2024-221 through 2024-231) included: administrative financial housekeeping (cancellation of outstanding municipal-court checks; authorization to place a lien on Block 13 Lot 11 for property-maintenance violations); an increase in the change fund for administration/tax office; a $51 sewer-account refund to Surety Title Company; rescission of a 2023 contract award to A-Plus Construction; appointment of Thomas J. Bell as a crossing guard at $21.01 per shift with a one-time $200 sign-on bonus; multiple sewer overpayment refunds; a third amendment to the site agreement with Virtua Health for the Mobile Grocery Store extending operating space from Nov. 1, 2024, to Nov. 1, 2025; adoption of the 2024 Burlington County Hazard Mitigation Plan; appointment of Patrick S. Flaherty to the fire department; and authorization to pay October 2024 bills totaling $1,677,841.32.
At roll call the council voted in favor (Latimore, Liebe, McCann, O’Connor, Howard) with Councilwoman De’Souza recorded as an abstention. The consent motion carried. The minutes show no separate discussion of any item removed from the consent list.
