Council approves $15,000 amendment to Chamber contract for July 4 parade security

Parks Director Lina Hicks explained the proposed breakdown of the already‑authorized $15,000: $8,500 to purchase barriers lining the parade route; $2,500 to cover overtime compensation for six additional city staff who will help manage the event; and $4,000 to be allocated to the Chamber to hire security and event staffing. "The funds have already been authorized by council; this would just kind of break it up of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said.
Councilmember (recorded in the transcript as) Kuman Frazier moved to approve Resolution 1881; the motion was seconded and the council voted aye. The mayor declared the resolution passed and the allocation authorized.
