The Candia Municipal Budget Committee reconvened Feb. 5, 2026 at 7:43 p.m. and voted to NOT recommend two amended warrant articles that had been changed at the town’s deliberative session.
Article #2 — the operating budget — had its proposed total increased at deliberative session from $11,585,787 to $11,833,313. Committee member Susan Young moved, and Ryan Young seconded, a motion to NOT recommend Article #2. The committee voted 8–1 in favor of NOT recommending the article. The transcript does not identify individual yes/no votes by name; the record contains only the final tally.
Article #4 would have increased the allowable school‑budget cap from 3% to 15%. Committee member Steve Tremblay moved, and Susan Young seconded, a motion to NOT recommend Article #4. The committee voted unanimously, 9–0, to NOT recommend that article.
The votes followed the committee’s earlier suspension of its meeting for the town’s deliberative session; the committee reconvened after that session to revisit its recommendations because both articles had been amended. Chair Lynn Chivers presided over the reconvened meeting.
No formal amendments to the committee’s recommendations were recorded beyond the motions to NOT recommend, and the minutes do not record individual roll‑call votes for the Article #2 8–1 tally. The committee’s decisions will be reflected in its advisory recommendations for the town meeting materials.
The meeting adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
