At a meeting on April 8, 2026, Brookfield Conservation Commission member Jeremy Marcotte announced he will not seek reappointment when his current term ends but said he will continue the trail and mapping work in the town—s Preserve and would consider serving as an alternate.
The announcement came after the commission accepted the March 4 meeting minutes by a 5-0 roll-call vote. Marcotte made the motion to accept the minutes; Vice Chair Faith Buell seconded. Chair Frank Frazier recorded the roll-call vote in which all five present members—Frank Frazier, Faith Buell, Jeremy Marcotte, Pat Girard and Leah Gage—voted in favor.
Chair Frazier said the commission will invite Alternate Jen McGown to take the full seat Marcotte is relinquishing. Frazier also signed off on member Leah Gage—s reappointment for a term beginning March 2026 and ending March 2029; Selectman—s Representative Austin Fifield will deliver the reappointment paperwork to the Select Board.
Marcotte said he would remain involved with Preserve projects despite stepping away from a full commission seat, and the commission discussed asking McGown if she would accept appointment to fill the vacancy. No formal vote to appoint a replacement was recorded at the meeting.
Procedural actions taken during the session were routine: the March minutes were approved and the meeting adjourned by a subsequent 5-0 roll-call vote. The next Conservation Commission meeting is scheduled for May 6, 2026, at 6 p.m. at the Town Offices.
