The Wachapreague Town Council on Feb. 12, 2025 signed an agreement with Weston & Sampson Engineers to design a Conceptual Coastal Resiliency Plan funded through a CFPF grant, Councilman Robert Bilicki said. Bilicki explained the town will make progress payments that will be submitted to CFPF for reimbursement.
Bilicki, who assembled an adjunct committee to review the engineer’s plan, said the goal is to ensure the design is site-specific rather than an off‑the‑shelf template. The council agreed the plan will overlap with oversight of drains and ditches and that coordinating with Councilman Robert Hipple is appropriate.
