The Random Lake Village Board approved proposed updates to the employee handbook at its May 4 meeting, including revised summer hours for the Department of Public Works and changes to Village Hall working hours.
President Duane Urbanski read the proposed changes. Trustee Blaine Werner asked which specific days each week staff would work under the new schedule; Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Waala said weekly schedules could vary and therefore are not listed by specific weekdays. Trustee Jamie Vorpahl asked how DPW would handle a holiday during the work week; DPW Director Peter Lederer explained that holiday hours are eight hours and staff would make up an extra hour on another day that week.
Trustee Dave Borchardt moved to approve the handbook updates; Trustee Rachel Fuller seconded the motion. The board carried the motion, 7–0. The minutes record the policy change and administrative clarifications; no additional personnel actions were recorded in open session.
