Committee trims visitor‑guide ad, reviews credit card purchases and routine reports

The Village of Random Lake Finance Committee on April 13 approved several routine items including reducing the village’s Hometown Visitor Guide advertisement from a full page to a quarter page and reviewing January credit card purchases and monthly reports.

Clerk/Treasurer Stephanie Waala said the village previously paid $300 for a one‑page ad from Arndt Advertising; Member Rachel Fuller moved to downsize to a quarter page for 2026. The motion was seconded by Member Chuck Mueller and carried 3-0. Village President Duane Urbanski said he will coordinate with the Chamber of Commerce on design collaboration.

On purchases, Member Chuck Mueller questioned a CivicPlus invoice; Waala said it covered bi‑annual ordinance updates to the village website. Borchardt asked about Home Depot lighting purchases; Waala said the lights were for a DPW shop lighting upgrade and that she will apply for grant reimbursement. Waala also said an apparent vehicle labeling error on receipts signed by an employee named Jeriod resulted in a mislabeling for the GMC truck and that the employee has been previously counseled.

Clerk/Treasurer Waala reported that the invoice for Job Order 2025‑29 (Krier Foods) was paid in full. The committee reviewed March checks, receipts, timesheets and budget variance reports; Borchardt said he will begin presenting a quarterly variance report to the Village Board.
