Council members discussed foundations and platforms (Saunders noted plans for 40-foot sections of track) and fundraising concepts: Vice Mayor Adams suggested selling commemorative bricks or 'buy a tie' donations; Councilman Marlin Sharp favored the Route 460 site for visibility and potential parking to support future museum ambitions.
Staff said bids for track installation are being solicited and that interior finish work could continue after the caboose is in place. Council did not vote on site selection at the meeting and asked staff to return with cost estimates and placement recommendations.
