Cindy Starweather is checking other potential locations in town, and the Chichester Methodist Church was also discussed as a possibility.
The matter matters for preservation: commissioners said they need to secure an appropriate, dry, and accessible location for historical documents and artifacts before the library requires removal. The commission is awaiting Town Meeting action to learn whether its proposed 2026 operating budget will be approved; available funds could affect relocation choices.
The meeting also included routine business: January minutes were approved and the commission set its next meeting for March 19. The meeting adjourned at 8:51 p.m.
